Windsurfing: Brogborough Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: 10- 40mph Surf / Sea State: wind chop Air Temperature: 15 Sea Temperature: Weather: cloudly / showers Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Was windy when I left home about 10am arrived at brog about 10.30 to find
very little wind. I was accused of being a jinks as a few minutes before I
arrived people were out on 6.5s.
Was about to rig 8.5 but it seamed to pick up a bit so went with 7.0 on
techno 283 with 46 cm fin as it was gonna be marginal. Got out on water had
a couple of runs when the wind really picked up big time! was really
finding the 7.0 with 46cm fin a hand full board was really railing up and
tail walking. Managed to get back to the launch area by sailing up wind and
then drifting down wind. Went back out with same set up but with 35cm fin
was much more in control had some really good runs but then the wind
really pick up some more was getting really over powered again decided to
go back and sit on the grass and watch for a while saw some really good
caterpults (not by me luckily).
Waited for wind to drop off abit
Waited some more
Waited a bit more
Was about to rig smaller sail when it dropped a little Decided to go out on
my smaller board (small for me) 112lts Had some fantastic runs and some
huge spin outs was really going for the gybes at the end but didn't come
out of any so was lots of water start practice its some much easier with
smaller board.
Biggest gust of the day 40mph but mostly 25 - 30 mph
Four stars as its still gives me a buzz getting on the smaller board.
